The platform is free of charge, devoid of advertisements, and rich in photo challenges and guidance aimed at nurturing artistic growth.

The initiative titled "In Pursuit of _____" by Getty Unshuttered encourages aspiring artists to reflect on their motivations, aspirations, and causes they champion. It invites participants to share their creations through the Getty Unshuttered app or by using the designated tags on Instagram for an opportunity to have their work exhibited online and potentially at the Getty Museum in the upcoming year.

Getty Unshuttered is a complimentary photo-sharing application curated by the Getty Museum, designed to foster a supportive community where young artists can amplify their voices for social good, draw inspiration from one another, and evolve artistically.

The "Skill Tree" feature offers an array of concise and practical photography tips to stimulate creativity. By mastering these skills and accumulating points, participants can progress through levels and vie for recognition as top photographers on Unshuttered. Sharing artwork not only boosts visibility but also serves as a source of motivation for fellow photographers.

Encouraging mutual support, users are prompted to engage with and follow other photographers to aid in their growth. The Getty Museum's Unshuttered team actively seeks outstanding work and emerging talents to highlight through designating accolades such as "Getty Pick" or "Picture of the Day." Each acknowledgment contributes to advancing one's standing within the community.
